About the Author

Ophir Chador (AKA The Playmaker) is a professional trader and account manager and is the founder of Forex Playbook, LLC.  An active, successful participant in all major markets, Ophir is particularly adept at options trading and at one point headed the advanced options strategies division of a reputable Broker/Dealer. Ophir is a California native and a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.

Market Philosophy

Ophir views the financial markets as being “irrevocably intertwined” – a theme that he feels is often lost on retail investors. In his words:

“A primary obstacle to profitable trading for retail investors stems from a lack of access and/or a lack of knowledge as it relates to broader markets. You cannot rely on just Forex, just Futures or just stocks in your quest for alpha. Instead, each trading decision must be made in the context of broader economic and market-based realities.

“For example, you cannot make a directional bet on the loonie without having a directional bias for crude prices. And you cannot have a directional bias for crude prices unless you have one for equities markets. In other words, each decision you make, whether you realize it or not, has implications for broader markets. The sooner you get that, the sooner you’ll understand the thought process of a professional trader.”
